New here, Kanboard enthusiast, Fred and golang?

Hi all,

I see that there are a lot of Kanboard enthusiests here. I have been using Kanboard for years in my homelab and tinkering with it.

As a programmer, I am quite impressed with Freds code. I also use his other app Miniflux.

This is kinda Kanboard related but does anyone know why Fred decided to create switch miniflux to Golang?

I ask for two reasons:

  1. Will Kanboard 2.0 also be in golang?
  2. Why golang?

Anyway, I am really happy I found this community. I have a few plugins to release later this year.

Hey welcome!

I can’t say why Fred switched but so far I don’t see a Kanboard 2 in the near future.

With the plug-in system, kanboard can be suited to your needs, the performance is okay, mostly depending on your database.

so there’s no really need for a big upgrade.
