Hi, what can be done with a.m. Plugin? Has been archived by maintainer in 2019 or so. But it should be possible to continue adding improvements. Ideas how to get Master into normal Plugins Release Handling? CU Rainer ---

You might ask @fred first, but I doubt that he will reactivate and update it. - Create a fork and update the code to current PHP and Kanboard versions. - Test, test and test. - Publish your work in the official plugin directory if you like to do so. ---

I decided to create a fork, because it is too difficult do get in contact with FrĂ©dĂ©ric You can find the test version [here on github](https://github.com/RainerBielefeld/plugin-broadcast), I am currently testing that version in “real life test”. There are only few modifications in the plugin: new Locale, new Changelog and such details. it would be great if some people could test it. Please keep in Mind that you do that on your own risc. My first version broke KANBOARD function completely when I changed language in my User Profile to french. Reason was translation line ```auto " 'Expiration Date' => 'Date d' expiration'," instead of " 'Expiration Date' => 'Date de expiration', ``` caused the problem! But now everything works fine in my tests in French, Spanish, English, Hungarian and German language. I already created a draft of the description for the [plugins page](https://kanboard.org/plugins.html); you can **not** find it [here](https://github.com/RainerBielefeld/website/blob/main/plugins.html). That source is cruelly damaged. There is a misunderstanding. My question " I don’t know which resources 
" is concerning the _plugin-broadcast_ itself! - Does _Broadcast_ include Database Changes? - Does _Broadcast_ override existing templates - Does _Broadcast_ incorporate KANBOARD hooks My php knowledge is much too little to find out ---

If you want to publish your work in the official plugin directory, you have to create a PR to the website repo, where only its file plugins.json has to be updated, according to the contents of your Plugin.php. “has\_hooks”: true, if you use [hooks](https://docs.kanboard.org/v1/plugins/hooks/) “has\_overrides”: true, if you use [overrides](https://docs.kanboard.org/v1/plugins/overrides/) “has\_schema”: true, if you modify or extend the database schema. Hey, it’s online now. Congrats! 😉 Some remarks: - I would uncouple the repo from the upstream. It’s your baby now, there won’t be any contribution from upstream and you cannot contribute there. - Think about renaming your repo, as **KANBOARD-plugin-broadcast** is a hideous name. Name it _kanboard-plugin-broadcast_, _plugin-broadcast_ or simply _broadcast_. The properties “Kanboard”, “Plugin” etc. can be attached as topics. ---

I now have a new tested Master with some fixes My plan is to upload the source to a new repository _broadcast_ on github from [current master](https://github.com/RainerBielefeld/KANBOARD-plugin-broadcast) during weekend. Of course download sources will have to be adapted in _Plugin.php_ and _plugins.json_ for the release from master at new place Any hints, concerns,

## Plugin works fine But ## Installation info is totally broken for the [new _Broadcast_ plugin](https://github.com/RainerBielefeld/Broadcast) I will need a little help to fix that Currently - _Plugin Manager_ plugin finds it on github - Offers installation - Pretends to install the Broadcast Plugin – but nothing will be installed Seems I did some things very wrong. Who can help? ---

I have several remarks. 1. Wrong directory naming. Integrate version number into the zip filename. E.g. _Broadcast-1.0.0.zip_ 2. Consider storing the zip at another place. > “download”: “https://github.com/RainerBielefeld/Broadcast/archive/refs/tags/broadcast.zip”, Even if this might work, look at what others have done. It’s usual to create a release on GitHub first and store the zip there for downloading. Example: > “download”: “https://github.com/BlueTeck/kanboard\_plugin\_boardcustomizer/releases/download/v1.1.0/Boardcustomizer-1.1.0.zip”, I’ve adjusted the zip for you, but I’ve not the permission for adding it to the release. ---
