I read that the description will be shown bei hovering on the card. Or clicking on it.
It would be super to have the description displayed without having the chance to change it as a user.

If your description is a short text, and you want it to be shown on board view, you can try other alternatives like Title, Category, or Tag.
If you don’t want some users to change these data, you can set them as Project viewer.
