Hello,
I am exploring Kanboard, I noticed that you can link tasks using relations like “blocks” or “is blocked by”, which helps describe how tasks depend on each other.
However, it seems that these relationships are only informational. For example, even if a task is marked as “blocked by” another, Kanboard still lets you move it or close it without any warning or restriction. It feels more like a “remember this link” feature rather than something that enforces dependency rules.
That got me wondering:
-
Is there a way to visualize or map these dependencies more clearly, so it’s easier to spot mistakes or misconfigurations?
-
And is it possible to add automations or rules that would prevent certain actions when the relationship isn’t respected? For instance, stopping a task from being closed if it’s still marked as “blocked by” another open task.
Has anyone tried something similar or found a plugin that handles this kind of behavior?
Thanks for your help!
